IMG_0446I am a second-year Master student in medieval History at Lyon 2 University. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History of Art. As part of my dissertation, supervised by Mr Jean-Louis GAULIN, I am establishing an edition of a terrier of the ecclesiastical seigneury of Miribel of Lyon Saint Paul’s chapter of 1433, which is kept in Rhône department Archives.

This edition combines traditional methodologies alongside more innovative ones, taking into account  technological progress and current issues. In addition to this digital edition, I also engage with a critical edition of the record, i.e. making “document archaeology”. The aim is to write about the register’s history and materiality, which is facilitated by XML markup of the document’s structural components.

In close relationship with this project, I also examine the link between historians and sources, particularly medieval archives. This enables me to view edited sources, and primarily digital edited archives, as a new part of the “historical fabrication”.
