Giulia Farina

Giulia Farina is a PhD student in Classics at the Department of Classical Studies of the University of Siena. She took her degree in Medieval Latin Literature in July 2014, with a thesis about the structural analysis, the language and the anthropological context of riddles, from the classical antiquity to the carolingian court, under the supervision of Professor Francesco Stella. Currently she is working on a new study about the riddle collection from the merovingian period known as Aenigmata Bernensia. Her research interests concern also the permanence of antiquity in the Middle Ages, folk-motifs and characters in classical and medieval literature, and archetyps of popular tales.
